Very often a Belgian becomes available because of a change of lifestyle, family emergency, death in the family, and so forth. Each of the Belgian clubs has a rescue network.

The Belgians in the rescue system are rescued dogs in foster homes. They may be part of the ABMC, ABTC, BSCA, UBSDA rescue system or rescued by an individual. A description of each dog is given in the link shown below. This description does not guarantee the temperament or health of the dog. If the dog has been evaluated by a formal  temperament test/tool this information will be listed. Absolutely no guarantee is made or implied regarding the suitability or availability of any dog(s).

Rehomes

All the Belgian clubs also work with rehomes from breeders.  A rehome is a dog that has been returned to a breeder, or rescued by a breeder for almost the same reasons as a rescue. Occasionally you will find a dog in the rehome category that was sold as a show quality animal and for some cosmetic reason is not of showing or breeding quality - perhaps the bite has gone off, a testicle is retained, it went over size or under size, etc. Ages of dogs in the system can vary from 3 months to 10 years.

Re-homed dogs are not for sale but reasonable charges for spaying/neutering, health care and transportation may be charged.

To qualify for one of these dogs, you will be put through a series of interview questions that determines your suitability for a particular animal. Please don't be offended at this, we have the dog's best interest in mind at all times.
